Director is responsible for the development and operation of city's parks and recreational programs and facilities.
Huxley is a fast growing community of 3,050+ (2000 census figure was 2,316) located in the exciting metro area between Des Moines and Ames on US Highway 69 and Interstate 35. Huxley is also home of the Ballard School District.
The Parks and Recreation Department includes the development of indoor and outdoor programs for all ages, overseeing and active Community Center with a racquetball court, activity room, weight rooms, and regulation gym. In addition, there are several activity fields.
Salary will depend on qualifications and experience. Salary range is approximately $31,000 to $42,000. Excellent benefits are offered with this position.

Performs responsible, professional and supervisory work in managing the activities of the Partners AmeriCorps program; performs related work as required.

Acceptable experience and training - the successful candidate will possess professional experience in the human services field or volunteer sector and a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in psychology, social work, counseling, human resources or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special requirements - possession of or ability to obtain and maintain an Iowa driver's license.
