Privacy Policy

IPRA = Iowa Park and Recreation Association

IPRA respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its Web site. IPRA strongly believes that if electronic commerce and online activities are to flourish, consumers must be assured that information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. To protect online privacy, IPRA has implemented the following policy.

What Information Does IPRA Collect?

Most data IPRA collects are used only to help IPRA better serve its members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by a special announcement placed on the Web site.

From General Users. IPRA does not collect any personal information from users browsing its Web site. Users to the public areas of IPRA’s Web site browse anonymously. Only aggregate data -- such as the number of hits per page -- are collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.

From IPRA Members, Conference Registrants, and Other Customers. To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on the IPRA Web site, members and other users are asked to register and provide some limited information. These data are submitted voluntarily. IPRA asks users to provide their name, organization name, business phone, fax number, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to IPRA through membership applications, conference registration, and publication orders. IPRA only uses this information to enhance its products and distribution of those products to its members.

How Does IPRA Use Data Collected?

IPRA uses information voluntarily submitted by members and other customers in the following ways:

IPRA Member Services and Products. Generally, IPRA and its direct subsidiaries use data collected to improve its own Web content; to respond to visitors' interests, needs and preferences; and to develop new products and services.

Disclosures to Third Parties. IPRA also makes member contact information available to third parties. The IPRA’s membership lists and various other lists are available for purchase. IPRA reserves the right to deny the rental of any IPRA list if it is not in the best interest of IPRA. Users may request IPRA to refrain from disclosing the data it collects to third parties on the membership application form, conference registration form or any other form on which they are providing information; an opt-out box will appear on each form on which a user provides information. Alternatively, users may contact IPRA at jordison@pcpartner.net or 641-236-3917 to express their preferences if they determine later that they do not wish to have the information shared.

Credit Card Account Information. IPRA does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, IPRA submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.

Our commitment to Date Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

What Privacy Issues Arise With Links To Other Sites?

This Web site contains links to other web sites. IPRA has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites.

Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important.  For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our Web site from those we actually know are under age 13, and no part of our Web site is structured to attract anyone under the age of 13 years.

Training & Education

Person who chooses to register online on our site will receive (if applicable) handouts, course materials/ manuals at the time of the training session. Due to the nature of this service there is no shipping or handling involved in the online purchase.

Returns & Refund Policy

Refunds – request for a refund must be done prior to the class, conference or workshop by writing a letter to the Iowa Park and Recreation Association.  Please include the following information:  Participant name, event and reason for request.  Mail letter to Iowa Park and Recreation Association, 1534 Penrose St., Grinnell, IA  50112.  Refunds or partial refunds will be granted at the discretion of the IPRA Executive Director within 10 working days.  Should you have questions or need further assistance, please contact the IPRA office at 641-236-3917; Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM CDT.

Orders

Once an on-line registration is received, your service will be processed.  Orders are for educational services.  Certified Pool Operator and Aquatic CEU Workshop participants will receive a confirmation letter via United States Postal Service 7 to 10 days prior to the educational class.  CPO manuals, if paid for at the time of on-line registration, will be sent along with the confirmation letter.  All other conference, workshop and forum participants will not receive a confirmation letter.  If any educational workshop is cancelled, participants will be notified in advance of the event.  Participants will be given the option to attend another class or receive a full refund.
