The Iowa Park and Recreation Association Sports Committee organizes three major events per year.  These include:  1) Spot Shot Youth Basketball, 2) Adult Volleyball, and 3) incooperation with Iowa Amateur Softball Association the Men's 14" Slowpitch State Tournament.

Spot Shot Youth Basketball

NEW!  Age 7 division added!

Open to boys and girls ages 7 to 13.  Boys and girls will compete separately.  Age divisions will also compete separately: Ages 7. 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13.

Participants must compete at a local event.  First, second, and three place ribbons will be given in each age/gender division.  All youth will receive a certificate of participation.

Local age/gender division 1st and 2nd place will advance directly to the state finals located in the Grinnell Athletic and Recreation Center (GARC) in Grinnell.

State finals - Saturday, March 17, 2012 in GARC

All local competitions must be completed by Monday, March 12

Participant intent to compete at state finals form due no later than Tuesday, March 13

Program Information:

Adult Volleyball

Three adult tournaments are offered each season.  Teams do not need to be USA Volleyball sanctioned as this is not a sanctioned tournament.  The event is offered for enjoyment as well as light competiveness.  Entry fee is $85/team.  Champion receive t-shirts; runner-up receive trophy.

Saturday, November 19, 2011 -- Adult Coed A and B  (total 15 teams)

Saturday, January 14, 2012 -- Adult Men B; Women A; Women B  (5 teams per divison)

Saturday, March 3, 2012 -- Adult Coed A and B  (total 15 teams)
